Executor Notification Service

Your executors won't be left searching through drawers.

Choose your executors as you build your will. We email them a secure portal link, so the people you trust know exactly where to go and what to do when the time comes.

Included free with every Trusted Hands will. No subscription needed.

How it works

Three steps. One clear path for the people you trust.

1. You name your executors

As you build your will, you appoint up to four executors and name substitutes in case your first choice can't act. Friend, family member, professional - your call.

2. We email them

Each executor gets a clear, calm email explaining they've been appointed, what an executor does, and that they'll be contacted through a secure portal when the time comes. They see no documents while you're alive.

3. Portal unlocks when needed

After a death is confirmed (we verify a death certificate first), the portal unlocks. Your executors find the will, the Executor Pack, a live checklist and the documents you chose to share - all in one place.

What your executors get

When the time comes and a death is confirmed, your executor's secure portal unlocks. Inside, they find:

  • The signed will - downloadable instantly
  • The Executor Pack - a plain-English step-by-step guide for the first 7 days, probate, inheritance tax and distribution
  • A live checklist - so they always know what's next and what's already done
  • The documents you chose to share from your Family Vault - insurance, deeds, financial account lists, letters of wishes
  • An asset register - so nothing important is missed

The single biggest cause of executor stress

It isn't the legal complexity. It's not knowing where to start. Executors describe the early days as "opening drawers and hoping". The Executor Notification Service exists to remove that entirely.

Trusted high-street brands have produced excellent wills for years - what they don't always include is the wiring around the will. Trusted Hands ties the will into a notification + portal system so the people you appointed actually know they've been appointed, know where the will lives, and have a clear path forward when they need it.

Privacy while you're alive

Your executors don't see any document while you're alive - just a confirmation email that you've appointed them, what an executor's role is, and that they'll be contacted via the portal when the time comes. Nothing is shared without your active permission or a confirmed death.

Privacy & control

You stay in charge while you're alive.

What do my executors see right now?

A single email confirming they've been appointed, a one-page explanation of what executors do, and a note that they'll be contacted via the portal when the time comes. No documents. No personal data beyond their name and the fact that you appointed them.

When does the portal unlock?

Only after a death certificate has been provided and verified by Trusted Hands. Until then the portal stays locked, regardless of who tries to access it.

Can I change my executors later?

Yes. With the Annual Subscription with Family Vault you can re-issue your will any time - new executors, removed executors, updated substitutes. The new signed will automatically revokes the old one.

What about co-executors - do they coordinate through the portal?

Yes. All named executors get the same portal access and see the same live checklist. No more cc'd emails or duplicated work - everyone sees the same authoritative record.

What if an executor doesn't want to act?

They can decline through the portal, which moves the role to your named substitute. The Executor Pack also explains the formal process of "renouncing" probate if they prefer not to act at all.

Choose your executors. Give them a clear way in.
